Ted is a highly sought-after audition and acting coach in New York. The actors he has coached privately or has worked with in a class setting have gone on to book series regular roles in network television and pilots, principal roles in feature films, and roles on Broadway and in regional theatre.
Many of the actors he has coached have been called back or have landed roles in feature films shot in NY, which include All Good Things, Bride Wars, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Julia and Julie, Taking Woodstock, and This Must Be the Place, among many others. In television, he has coached actors who have booked roles on 30 Rock, CSI: New York, Lipstick Jungle, Gossip Girl, Law and Order(s), Without a Trace, Cold Case, Damages, Convicted, New Amsterdam, Ugly Betty, and several soap operas.
This past season, he coached actors who have been called back, gone to producers, and/or booked over 20 network pilots. Ted has also coached many young actors who are now in graduate acting programs at Yale, NYU, ACT, ART, Carnegie Mellon, Juilliard, Brown/Trinity, Denver Center, Old Globe, and UCSD. Each one of these opportunities began with an audition.
Ted was a casting director for over twenty years, and he knows what producers, directors, writers and casting directors are looking for in an audition. His professional background also includes positions at ICM, and Grey Advertising (where he cast over 1500 commercials). He was the Work Shop director at the Williamstown Theatre Festival for several seasons, selecting and mentoring actors in the Non Equity Company and the Apprentice Company, as well as selecting and mentoring the prestigious Williamstown Theatre Festival Directing Corp.
